In the movie Pay it
Forward the theme of the movie is to simply “pay it forward.” It means to
pay your dues by helping strangers out because you were helped out by a random
stranger. This seems like a childish attempt to be able to pull out the
kindness inside of people. A convoluted plan which involves making people feel liable
from being helped. In some cases it does work but there is too much greed for
it to have much of an impact. It also seems like a great idea but, nowadays people
don’t care much for the strangers around them so I don’t believe that this idea
will work. The main reason is the capitalist society where people only worry
for themselves. There has been some times where I “paid it forward”. During my
way home I saw a mother carrying her daughter while tugging her son inside the
bus. I offered her help to carry her stroller inside and even paid for her bus
fare, why not. I did feel liable to help her out because there is several times
when I didn’t have any money for the bus but was helped by a stranger. I felt
good knowing that I helped a mother in need but not everyone feels the same.
Okay Victor,
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is all that bad and that all people are greedy after all. Look at your own example. You remembered the people who helped you with bus fare so you helped someone else. Now, that does not prove to me that all people are greedy. Have a little faith here!
